Rhythm Section
Our Rhythm Section focuses on instruments typically found in R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Gospel Music. In this program students ages 8-18 can choose the bass guitar, drum set, keyboard, or studio production as their primary instrument of study. The Rhythm Section meets at the Gantt R-Center where we are in the process of refurbishing our studio space to be a fully functioning Recording Studio. Students in the Rhythm Section receive the following:
weekly small group technique classes on their primary instrument
weekly small group repertoire classes on their primary instrument
a weekly band rehearsal (intermediate to advanced students only)
opportunities to be recorded or record others in the Recording Studio
an instrument to check out for the school year
performance opportunities throughout the community
access to local concerts and other cultural events
